For the growth of traditional 18 family based artisan business, PM Vishwakarma Scheme provides the access for business and skill training, Stipend while ongoing training, Financial help to acquire necessary tools, loan at consessional rate of interest and marketing and branding help to grow the business.
Eligible artisan will be recognised as ‘Vishwakarma’ with a certificate and ID card which will be used to get all the benefits of this scheme and related government schemes.
This scheme launched by PM Narendra Modi in September 2023 and will be live for 5 years till 2027-28.

Benefits of PM Vishwakarma Yojana
Apart from recognition as Vishwakarma the benefits include,
1. 40 hours of skill training of respective artisan business and skill verification
2. Option to enrol for 120 hours of Advanced training
3. Stipend of Rs. 500 per day while ongoing training
4. Financial help of Rs. 15000 to acquire necessary toolkit for the business
5. Collateral-free Enterprise development loan at of Rs. 3 Lakh with Concessional Rate of interest of 5% while remaining 8% will be paid by Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME). Loan will be given in 2 stages. First part will be of Rs. 1 Lakh with 18 months of repayment terms and second part will be of Rs. 2 Lakh with 30 months of repayment terms.
6. Credit guarantee fees of the loan will be borne by Government of India.
7. To encourage digital transaction there will be an incentive of Rs. 1 per transaction for maximum of 100 transactions a month.
8. To have a sound business and also to scale it up, The National Committee for Marketing (NCM) will provide Trade Fair Advertising, branding and promotion help for publicity of the business, setting up help for the ecommerce business and Quality Certifications.

Eligibility
• Applicant working in traditional 18 family-based trades and in an unorganised sector on self-employment basis on the date of registration
• Artisans or craft persons working with their hands & tools,
• Minimum age should be 18 years on the date of registration
• Under any other Central or State government credit based schemes, Artisan should not have availed any loan in last 5 years.
• Application is restricted to only one member per family
• Artisan and member of his/her family must not be working under any government service

Note: If beneficiary is not having ration card then all family members should be having Aadhaar card
PM Vishwakarma yojana online apply
There are main three stages for application. And to apply online you have to visit CSC and not possible to do it yourself.
1. Registration on the portal:
• For registration you need to visit your nearest Common Service Center (CSC), where your first time registration will be done on official portal of this scheme pmvishwakarma.gov.in by CSC.
• There you have to answer certain questions about yourself and the trade.
• Next you need to verify your Aadhaar card with OTP on linked mobile number.
2. Application for the scheme
• Then your biometric verification will be done at CSC and application form for the scheme will be filled with necessary details.
• Once application form is submitted, you have to get the ‘Application number’ which will be needed for verification on 3rd stage.
3. Verification of application:
• With your Application number visit your nearest Gram Panchayat or Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) whichever is applicable.
• Then by District Implementation Committee your application is to be verified.
• Then once verification is done the screening committee will give final approval for your application once satisfied with the details you provided and vetting your eligibility for the scheme.
Disbursal of Benefits
Once your three stage verification is done, then you will be formally registered in this scheme and will be given identity of ‘Vishwakarma’.
You will then receive a Digital ID, PM Vishwakarma digital certificate, and PM Vishwakarma ID card.
These ID and certificate will enable you to avail the benefits under PM Vishwakarma.

As per latest data there are more than 2 Crore 50 Lakhs Application under the scheme.
Below are stage wise numbers of applicants,
• Stage 1 – Gram Panchayat/ULB verification : More than 1 Crore 41 Lakhs applicants
• Stage 2 – District implementation committee verification : more than 43 Lakhs applicants
• Stage3 – Screening committee verification : more than 22 Lakhs applicants
• Final registration as ‘Vishwakarma’ : More than 21 Lakhs 90 thousands applicants

All the communications about disbursement of incentives will be done through SMS over registered mobile number.
Which lending institutions are eligible avail credit under PM Vishwakarma scheme?

When will I be eligible for the second installment of the loan if I have utilized the first installment of the loan under Vishwakarma Scheme?
Once you have undergone advanced training, have a standard loan account, and have adopted digital transactions in your business then you will become eligible to avail the second installment loan of Rs 2 lakh.
Is there any requirement to provide any security to avail the loan facility under this scheme?
No, no need to provide any security to avail loan under this scheme.
What is the rate of interest in the loan under the scheme?
For the loans beneficiaries are charged at a concessional rate of interest of 5%. While Government of India will be covering interest rate to an extent of 8% and will be paid to the banks upfront.
What kind of skill training is given under Vishwakarma Yojana?
For all the professions respective trade-related skill training will be provided to enhance and promote the capabilities of artisans and craftsmen.
It includes initial skill verification, basic skills and advanced skills.
What kind of marketing support is provided under the scheme?
Support for Quality certification, branding, advertising, promotion and other marketing activities related support will be provided in this scheme.
This is to ensure the easier connection of artisans and craftspersons with the value chain of MSMEs and established companies to grow their business.
If a person has already availed PMEGP, PM SVanidhi or PM Mudra loan, can he apply for PM Vishwakarma?
A person who has ongoing our outstanding loan under any other government scheme cannot apply for PM Vishwakarma.
However, people who have repaid PMEGP, PM SVanidhi or Mudra loan in full can apply for PM Vishwakarma.
Can I apply for PMEGP if I am already a beneficiary of PM Vishwakarma?
Yes, you can, but you can avail PMEGP only after repaying the full loan taken under PM Vishwakarma.
Actually, PM Vishwakarma Yojana aims not to only support the traditional artisans and craftsmen but also make them generate new employment opportunities for the unemployed people by expanding their business through availing the benefits of PMEGP.
